Our story

In 2016, Johnny moved to Hawaii to run the vacation-travel department for a Fortune 500 company — leaving his two dogs, a Corgi and an English Springer Spaniel, back home in Arizona.

The islands got into his blood. So when he heard that Alo's — the local doghouse whose groomer always made his dogs look like superstars — was up for sale, he booked a flight home. His confirmation number spelled the word PET. No joke. He took it as a sign from the Universe.

In 2019 he took the leap, and Johnny's Doghouse was born — built around one idea: treat every dog, and every owner, like ohana. It's why our corgi mascot wears his shades out front, why there's a lei on every pup, and why — thousands of happy dogs later — it still feels like the islands in here.

What “Aloha” means to us

Aloha is the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy. Here it isn't decoration — it's the standard we hold ourselves to with every dog, every owner, every visit.
